Limbo

LIMBO
by Helene L. Solberg & André Lassemo
Alex sits alone in the studio, surrounded by paintbrushes, canvases, and boxes, staring at the large empty canvas. Everything is ready for the great masterpiece—except Alex. The inspiration is gone, and the darkness of the mind has taken over. Suddenly, the doorbell rings. A cold fear spreads. Alex can’t get up, can barely breathe. It feels as if the world has come to a standstill, and the canvas looms as a threatening reminder of everything at stake. The exhibition is approaching, but first, the demons must be confronted.
Limbo sheds light on the urgent and serious issue of domestic violence. A unique aspect of the performance is that Alex is alternately played by André Lassemo and Helene L. Solberg, and the audience will not know in advance who will be on stage until the performance begins. This approach is intended to challenge preconceived notions about gender, violence, and societal expectations.
The experience of the performance will vary depending on the actor portraying Alex, and we therefore encourage the audience to see both versions. This can contribute to a broader perspective on the theme, and we offer combination tickets at a reduced price for those who wish to see both. Of course, it is also possible to see only one version.
